🍴Laos-Yuan (ลาวญวน) – Vietnamese meets Laos🍴

Food

Helloo everyone, welcome back to my blog once again. For this week, I would like to introduce you to one of my all-time favorite food ever, Isan or northeast Thai cuisine!

The story behind the restaurant was, nowadays, Thai people are becoming more aware of their food and health. Eating vegetables and herbs are an alternative that health lovers see the importance of them. So, it is the starting point of “Laos-Yuan by Tummour” that combines the taste of Isan cuisine, from the delicious recipe of Tummour restaurant with the legend of deliciousness over 23 years with a variety of delicious Vietnamese food, which goes together perfectly!

Last week, I had a chance to ate lunch at “Laos-Yuan by Tummour,” so I think it would be great to share it with you guys, and I hope it will help you create more choices on where to eat 🙂

🍗 Fried chicken wings (ปีกไก่ทอด)🍗

Untitled design-2

Fried chicken wings

Many of you guys might think that fried chicken is a ubiquitous dish in many culture or countries. But, almost every Isan food restaurants serve fried chicken. The crispy coating is sometimes a bit sweet, occasionally flecked with sesame seeds, and always served with spicy or sweet chili dipping sauce. If you want to find something to enjoy instead of the classic Isan food, fried chicken is also a great alternative.

Rating: 9.5/10- This is by far, one of my favorite menu to have at Laos-Yuan! The chicken was freshly fried, it is very crispy on the outside but super soft and tender on the inside. The taste of the meat is also very delicious 🙂

Price: 100 THB

🍤Papaya salad with dried shrimps (ตำไทย)🍤

Happy National Lasagna Day-4

Papaya salad with dried shrimps (ตำไทย)

Untitled design-4

Papaya salad with dried shrimps (ตำไทย)

This spicy papaya salad or Som Tam comprised of shredded green papaya, green beans, tomatoes, peanuts, lime, dried shrimp, garlic, chili peppers, fish sauce and palm sugar. All the ingredients are pounded together in a mortar, and the result is a salty, tangy, slightly sweet and sometimes very spicy, crispy salad. There are many variations on Som Tam, and you’ll often find it made with salted crab out on the street vendors and restaurants.

Rating: 8.5/10 – The papaya salad was delicious.

Price: 80 THB

🍜Papaya salad with rice vermicelli noodles (ตำซั่ว)🍜

Happy National Lasagna Day-2.jpg

Papaya salad with vermicelli noodles (ตำซั่ว)

Papaya salad with rice vermicelli noodles or Tum Sua is quite different from Tum Thai. It has Pla ra, which is a traditional Thai seasoning produced by fermenting fish with rice bran or roasted rice powder and salt fermented in a closed container for at least six months. Also, in this kind of papaya salad, rice veremicelli noodles are one of the main ingredients. The noodles goes unexpectedly well with the papaya salad and helps to create a unique taste to dish.

Rating: 7/10 – This menu is usually one of my go to at Isan food restaurants. But in my personal opinion, the salad from this place is quite salty and super spicy! Even though I wrote on the ordering paper ‘not spicy.’

Price: 80 THB

🐣Fried duck lips (ปากเป็ดทอด)🐣

Untitled design-3

Fried duck lips

The first time I went to Laos-Yuan, I got a chance to try out an exotic cuisine, which is the fried duck lips. This dish is a favorite menu of many people while it can be an unfamiliar menu for lots of people too. The cost can range from 80 to 120 Baht or higher in a fancy restaurant because it’s quite hard to find a significant amount of duck lips.

Rating: 7.5/10 – There’s nothing wrong with trying something new right?! Therefore, I gave it a fair chance. It turns out not that bad actually. Since I have tried it for the first time, I asked my cousin for his opinion. He said the meat was less and dry than the usual one that he had from another restaurant.

Price: 100 THB

Location

Currently, you can find 10 branches of Laos-Yuan by Tummour in Bangkok and other provinces.

📍Fashion Island (แฟชั่นไอซ์แลนด์)

📍Future Park Rangsit (ฟิวเจอร์ พาร์ค รังสิต)

📍Vibhavadi 64 (วิภาวดี 64)

📍Promenade Ramindra (พรอมานาด รามอินทรา)

📍The Street Ratchada (The Street รัชดา)

📍The Mall Bangkae (The Mall บางแค)

📍Central Plaza, Nakhon Si Thammarat (เซนทรัล พลาซ่า นครศรีธรรมราช)

📍Blue Port, Hua Hin (บลูพอร์ต หัวหิน)

📍Central Westgate (เซ็นทรัล เวสต์เกต)

📍Central Festival EastVille (เซ็นทรัลเฟสติวัล อีสต์วิลล์)

From my own experience, I think this a nice restaurant with reasonable prices. It is suitable for every age from young children to adults because there is a wide range of menus for you to choose. However, at the Promenade Ramindra branch that I went to, the atmosphere is quite loud. Even though there are a lot of tables provided for the customers, but the employees don’t seem to be enough to service their customers.

Lastly, I encourage you guys to go and try it out by yourself, and you can decide whether you like it or not. I hope you guys will enjoy it!

See you guys next week ♡

Poongkang x Vaporlyfe – the scent of vape juices and real food!

Food, Vape

Hello and welcome back to my blog once again! In this week, I am collaborating with my classmate, James from Vaporlyfe. His page provided all of the necessary information and many products about vape. So, I think it would be a great idea to talk about food and vape that many people often think it would never go together!

I’m a food lover. Therefore, I will be talking about how would e-juices scented comparing to the actual food and I will also rank them respectively according to which one smells like the real food the most. While my friend will be reviewing and giving details about e-juices that are mimicking the taste of the food.

tumblr_otivzcqcGe1tuaz2oo1_500

So, let’s get starting by comparing the vape juices to the actual food 🙂

🍋 Mango sticky rice VS. The real mango sticky rice 🍋

This mango sticky rice flavor is trying to imitate the sweet and mellow scent of the real one, which it does quite a great job. The smell of coconut milk and sticky rice are obvious, and it makes the juice smells soft and sweet. It also has a distinct mango flavor, just to let you know that there is a presence of a mango scent. However, there is a slightly sour scent, which I believe is the mango. It gives the e-juice more realistic fragrance.

🍪 OH!REO VS. Oreo 🍪

2012

It’s inspired by one of the most famous cookies brand, Oreo! You can experience cookies taste with vaping. It does indeed smell like Oreo cookies! The scent is a little bit similar to crackers and cookies, but it has a slightly bitter scent, which is close to the characteristics of Oreo.

🎂 Baby Cakes VS. Cheesecake 🎂

The description for Baby Cakes on the website was, “Vanilla Cake fell in love with Cheesecake. Nine months later, Baby Cakes was born. Imagine a cheesecake cupcake with a light, whipped frosting.” The description for Baby Cakes on the website was, “Vanilla Cake fell in love with Cheesecake. Nine months later, Baby Cakes was born. Imagine a cheesecake cupcake with a light, whipped frosting.” And does it actually smells like an actual vanilla cake? Well, I’m going to say it does! The fragrance is very sweet, and the vanilla scent is apparent. It just makes me wants to grab some vanilla cakes instantly lol! Plus, the smell is not too intense. I was expecting it to make me feel dizzy, but it did not 🙂

🍮 Vapetasia Killer Kustard VS. Custard dessert 🍮

It is a scent with a creamy, custard dessert treat rounded off with subtle hints of vanilla sweetness. It smells just like a custard pudding that we usually have in restaurants!

🏆 Ranking 🏆

The winner would be the “Baby Cakes” e-juice! Its scent is super identical to a real vanilla cake.

The second rank goes to “OH!REO”

The third would be the “Vapetasia Killer Kustard”

And the last rank is “Sticky rice mango”

Lastly, if you are a non-smoker like me, to open up your mind to new experiences such as vape is an essential since many people are against vaping and smoking. However, I do think it is interesting how people use different flavors to make vaping more fun, creative and unique that vapors can experience! Moreover, I believe that there are both advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on the usage of each person. From my personal experience, I think it does help people to quit smoking or smokeless. My uncle has been smoking for almost 15 years, and he has tried many times to stop. But, when he got to know more about vapes and started using it for 8-10 months, he gradually stopped smoking cigarettes and also doing less vaping too!

And that’s is all the vape juices that I have tried to smell to compare it with the real food and ranked them for you guys. I hope you enjoyed it whether you are non-smokers or vapors 🙂 If you have any comments, please feel free to share it with me.

See you guys next week ♡

7 healthy food Instagram pages that you must follow!

Food, Healthy food

Greetings to all my readers! Welcome back to my blog 🙂 Currently, I have been reading a book called “Kitchen Mare(คิด.เช่น.แมร์)” by Kalamare Patcharasri Benjamas, that is about living and eating healthy in a very simple way. In the book, she said, “Find knowledge and know how to eat,” which left me quite confused at first. So, I will be emphasizing on what she meant by this statement.

Of course! We all know how to eat! It might sound silly after you read it. But, what she wanted to tell the readers was, we need to know how to use technology wisely. In the midst of rapid development era, health education is not limited to health brochures in the hospital or read from the academic books anymore. There are social media, which makes researching things much more convenient. What you are interested in and what you love to do, you can just find the information instantly on the Internet.

Information on the internet is not all accurate and reliable. Some are not certified, some are all about marketing products, and people often shared these wrong information throughout social media. Therefore, readers discretion is required, and you should analyze all the data before you are applying it. You should find information from many sources to compare. If you are not sure that you got the right info or not, you should consult a specialist whether it is a matter of nutrition or exercising.

After reading this topic, it inspires me to create this article. For this week, I will introduce seven healthy food accounts that I trusted, followed and loved! ♡

🍟Potato Corner, where you can get the world’s best flavored fries!🍟

Food

Hey guys, welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m going to take you to a store that I’ve tried for the first time and reviewing it like the first impressions that beauty bloggers often do on YouTube. So, if you guys love fried potatoes or what we commonly known as french fries, you should not miss “Potato Corner!”

spring

Potato Corner opened its first outlet in October 1992 and began franchising the year after. By starting with a kiosk-type business, the brand has grown into opening in-line stores across multiple locations from malls, schools, and tourist destinations in the country.

Today, Potato Corner is open for a franchise in the Philippines, and they are also available in the United States, Indonesia, Panama, Australia, and other parts of the world including Thailand, with over 1,100 branches!

IMG_2214

The main feature of the store is the freshness of fried potatoes. They will make it according to the order cups per cup. Additionally, the quality of potatoes and other raw materials are also premium grades, so customers get good quality products!

It is not like a regular french fries! You can choose several flavors and sizes that you want. Currently, Potato Corner’s French Fries menu is available in seven flavors: Cheese, BBQ, Chili BBQ. Also, you can choose 4 sizes: Large 39 Baht, Jumbo 59 Baht, Mega 79 Baht (choose 2 flavors) and Giga 139 Baht (choose 3 flavors)

The ordering steps are very simple. First, pick the size you would like to have. Second, choose the flavors and drinks(optional). Third, pay at the cashier and keep the receipt. Lastly, wait for the staff to call out your queue number that’s printed on the receipt, then enjoy your fries!

Here are all the flavors that I have tried for the first time,

Untitled design-8

Untitled design-7

Untitled design-6

Untitled design-5

From my first impressions, they are delicious and fun snacks to eat once in a while since it’s not something that you will enjoy every day(unless you are a huge fan of french fries). My most favorite flavor would be BBQ and pizza because they are so rich in flavors. Plus, the price is super high! In my opinion, it’s not a reasonable price comparing to the goods itself. I mean, you do get a lot of product, both the fries and the flavorings in each size, but it still too expensive.

Moreover, I like that they make them freshly according to the queue so your fries will not be soft and untasty when you eat it. That is why we have to wait about 5 minutes or longer for our orders, but it is worth waiting for if we got a delicious and crispy french fries 😉

In conclusion, it is a delightful snack for you to enjoy it with your friends and family. I do recommend you to try it out by yourself so you will know if you like it or not!

“KOKO” Thai vegetarian cuisine

Food, Uncategorized

During the vegetarian season, it is quite hard for people to find a delicious vegetarian restaurant and people who want to try it often thinks that vegan meals are tasteless. But, this week I have a Thai and vegetarian restaurant called “Koko” to recommend to you guys, which will change your perspective on vegan food!

Koko restaurant (Credit: Wongnai)

Screen Shot 2560-10-16 at 8.25.59 PM

Koko restaurant (Credit: Wongnai)

This restaurant has been open for almost 20 years. In the first three years of the business, they started with selling desserts. Later, it turned into a Thai cuisine restaurant that also offers vegetarian menus.

The idea of selling vegetarian meals started with the owner who’s a vegetarian herself, so she decided to learn the recipes from her mother and adjusted it into the unique flavor of the store. Later on, the restaurant’s cuisine became more and more popular, with more variety, and sells vegan diets as the main dishes throughout the year.

I was skeptical to try food from this place since I have never found a tasty vegetarian food. But, my friend is sensitive to Monosodium Glutamate or MSG, and she keeps on recommending this place to eat our lunch at Siam Square. So, I gave it a chance, and it wows me!

Mischievous-Names-for-MSG-Thumbnail

No MSG used at Koko restaurant

One of the things I like about this place is they do not put MSG in the food. Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is commonly used as a flavor-enhancing food additive, and it is a popular ingredient to use in many Thai restaurants, which many believe it can cause allergy-like symptoms and side effects to the consumers.

According to verywell.com, they have stated that there is very little evidence that a true MSG allergy exists, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified MSG as an ingredient that’s “generally recognized as safe.” However, because its use has historically provoked controversy, the FDA requires food labels to list it as an ingredient to help people who are sensitive to MSG avoid it easier.

And here are different menus that I have tried from “Koko,” which I would like to share my thoughts on each of them with you guys!

Fried oyster mushroom (นางฟ้าพิเศษ)

Light up thenight at promwith me?
In this first dish, the restaurant uses oyster mushroom as the main ingredients. They seasoned it, so it increased the flavor to the mushroom. Then, deep fried it until it turns into golden color.

Price: 110 THB

Rating: 8.5/10 – In my opinion, it is quite expensive for just a fried mushroom. However, the taste is fantastic! It is crispy and not greasy at all. Plus, the sweet plum sauce goes very well with this menu.

Spicy morning glory salad with shrimps (ยำผักบุ้งกุ้งสด)

Light up thenight at promwith me?-2

Light up thenight at promwith me?

This is a healthy dish suitable for you who wants a refreshing and delicious flavor since it is spicy, sour and flavourful at the same time! But, don’t worry if you cannot eat spicy food because the chef just sprinkles the chili at the side of the dish so that you can scoop the chili out.

Price: 120 THB

Rating: 9.5/10 – This dish is by far one of my favorites menus from this place! The ingredients, especially the shrimps are very fresh and tasty.

Fried rice with mushrooms and cashew nuts (ข้าวผัดเห็ดกับเม็ดมะม่วงหิมพานต์)

criss-cross-applesauce.jpg
In this menu, there are cashew nuts and various types of mushrooms. The texture of the mushrooms is chewy, crunchy and soft at the same time, which creates an enjoyable texture when you are eating it.

Price: 90 THB

Rating: 8.5/10 – You may think it looks simple and has a plain taste, but it is not!

Atmosphere

The restaurant is a single-story commercial building with air-conditioners. The area in the shop is quite small, which sometimes it can be overcrowded if it is a busy day. Also, there are parking spaces available at Siam Square, so it is convenient for customers who bring their cars.

Opening Hours

Open daily from 11.00AM – 21.30 PM (Kitchen closed at 21.00 PM)

Loacation
&
How to get there

If traveling by BTS to Siam Station, take an exit at Exit 2 and walk to Siam Square Soi 3. Koko is opposite Chester’s Grill restaurant and has a very clear sign.

I hope my blog encourages you to try vegetarian food. It is not as plain and boring like we often see since we are young. Healthy food can be simultaneously delicious and nutritious, all you have to do is be more open-minded and try out something new!

See you guys next week 🙂

Northern Thai cuisine at “Krua Horm”

Food

For someone who loves or never tried local northern cuisine and does not want to travel very far to Chiangmai or the Northern part of Thailand. This week, I will take you to a restaurant called “Krua Horm (ครัวฮอม),” located at Soi Ramkhamhaeng 164 in Bangkok.

When you go straight into Soi Ramkhamhaeng 164, you will see “Krua Horm” on the right-hand side opposite Family Mart. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very comfortable because of the warm yellow paint of the wall. Also, there are lovely wooden tables that are just enough to accommodate the customers.

IMG_2120

They have a wide range of menus for you to choose, mainly local northern food. However they also have American breakfast available! But, today I will be focusing on reviewing and introducing their best-sellers northern menus.

“Khao Soi (ข้าวซอย)”

IMG_2125

IMG_2121

A northern Thai “Khao Soi” is closer to the present day Burmese “ohn no Khao swè.” It is a soup-like dish made with a mix of deep-fried crispy egg noodles and boiled egg noodles, pickled mustard greens, shallots, lime, ground chilies fried in oil, and meat in a curry-like sauce containing coconut milk.

It is one of the top-seller menus at “Krua Horm,” and there are multiple toppings that you can order, which is boiled pork, chicken, fried pork, tofu, and vegetables. What makes the dish stand out is the delicious, spicy, sweet and sour soup. Especially the scent of daily fresh coconut milk and curry paste!

Price: 69-89 THB (cost differs for each menu)

Rating: 8.5/10 – I think it is a delicious serving! The soup is very flavourful. I love the crispy noodles, and the soft chicken and pork. Even though there is a sour pickled, sliced shallots and lime to help lessen the greasiness, you might still find it a little greasy while you are eating it.

“Jackfruit with curry paste (ตำขนุน)”

IMG_2119

“Jackfruit with curry paste” or “Tum Kha Noon” is the local food of Lanna that pestling boiled young jackfruit with curry paste. Then, slightly fried them with deep fried garlic, tomatoes, sliced bergamot leaves and dried chilies.

Price: 79 THB

Rating: 9.5/10 – This is my most favorite dish from this restaurant! I highly recommend it to you guys if you got a chance to come to the store. It is super delicious, and the scent of the ingredients are very aromatic.

“Lanna starter set (ออเดิร์ฟเหนือ)”

IMG_2124

For this starter set, it is like mimicking what Lanna or northern people called “Kan Toke.” It is a wooden round tray that has legs, which is used for setting up and serving many kinds of foods.

The set contains:
– Two types of curry paste, Namprig Aong, and Namprig Noom.
– Fried pork
– Lanna sausage
– Pork rind and vegetables

Price: 229 THB

Rating: 9/10 – I think this set is worth the price since there are many side dishes, which are amazing!

“Soft sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียวนิ่ม)”

IMG_2123

The sticky rice of “Krua Horm” is unique. I have never tried a sticky rice from any places that are this good! It is super soft, but not mushy at all. They cook it with a pandan leaf, which creates an aromatic scent for the rice. You can have it with fried pork sausage, jackfruit with curry paste or larb.

Price: 10 THB

Rating: 10/10 – It is a simple sticky rice, yet it is a delightful punch to the meal!

Also, one thing I wanted to point out to you guys if you go to this place is, there are only two parking spaces in front of the store(which is usually taken), so I suggest that you park in the parking lots next to Bromsgrove International School or along the sidewalk.

My favorite thing: Sasaki bread

Bakery, Food

Hello and welcome back to my blog once again 🙂 Today, I would like to introduce you guys to a delightful bakery store that I have never thought that I will enjoy and I will also give you my thoughts about it!

At Sasaki, there is a wide variety of bakeries for you to choose from such as doughnuts, pound bread and cakes, brownies, and even pannacotta. Also, another important point is, most of their products are made fresh daily to maintain its good quality and deliciousness. Whenever I go to the store, they are very crowded most of the time, and their best sellers products will be sold out. So, I suggested if you are interested in trying it out, you should arrive here before 4 p.m.

Here is a list of my favorite products from Sasaki that I would like to recommend to you.

Pink milk or Nom-yen custard bread (ขนมปังสังขยานมเย็น)

GreatestDad in the World

Sasaki’s pink milk custard bread was inspired by “Nom-yen” or “Iced pink milk.” Many foreigners might question, What nom-yen or iced pink milk is? It is many Thai people’s favorite iced drink that mixed fresh milk with Hale’s Blue Boy red syrup. Additionally, I think this menu is ideal for children and those of you who got a sweet tooth since it’s the sweetest and most refreshing flavor out of them all. At first, I think it will not be as delicious because Nom-yen is not my cup of tea, but it’s surprisingly tasty!

Thai tea custard bread (ขนมปังสังขยาชาไทย)

GreatestDad in the World-2

I highly recommended this menu for people who love Thai tea, like me! If any restaurant I go to offer Thai tea, I’ll order it most of the time. At Sasaki, the concentration of the tea is quite intense, so it gives a slightly bitter taste to the bread. However, the sweet, mellow taste of the custard help lightens the bitterness of the tea, which is the perfect flavor! To enhance the tastiness, you can have it with hot milk or a cup of tea for breakfast. It will surely make a great start for your day 😉

Chocolate custard bread (ขนมปังสังขยาช็อคโกแลต)

Bright Blue Brushes Dad Appreciation Facebook Post.jpg

The chocolate custard bread is one of the best sellers menus at Sasaki. It’s a standout product in regarding of the abundant amount of chocolate filling inside the bread. Plus, their soft and thin bread that combined with the rich chocolate flavor is AMAZING! The chocolate flavor is not too sweet, and you can enjoy it with both tea or coffee.

Overall rating: 8.5/10 – I highly recoomended this place for you guys to try out. But, there are hits and misses for the store that I also wanted to share with you.

Hits:
– It is very affordable, yet delicious at the same time.
– There is a broad range of bakeries for you to purchase.
– Fresh bakeries every day!

Misses:
– Unorganized queue no matter when it gets crowded or not. Many people often cut the line, and sometimes the staff didn’t give the order according to the queue 😦
– It sold out pretty quickly, especially the best sellers menus.

Opening hours

8:00 – 19:00 p.m. (It also depends on each day because most of the time they sold out before the closing time)

50 years of “Mont Nomsod”

Food

If you mention the bakery-fresh milk shop nearby the Giant Swing, many people should have heard of the name “Mont Nomsod,” especially those living in the vicinity of the Bangkok City Hall. Whether adults, seniors or children of all ages will be familiar with it. The first time I came to this place was with my mom. She told me that she’d been here since she was a teenager and fell in love with the taste of the toast from this place. So, in this blog, I would like to introduce and share my thoughts about “Mont Nomsod” with you guys!

Before I go into further details about the products, I would like to tell you guys the history of “Mont Nomsod” first! Mr. Mont Vanisornkul, the owner of the shop, started as an employee at a coffee shop at the corner of Bangkok City Hall in 1964 until the store closed 15 years later. So, Mr. Mont and his father decided to open a coffee shop on a pickup truck, in the same area as the place where he was a former employee. But, the problem was they were often caught by the municipal police.

Therefore, Mr. Mont looked for a store location to rent and opened his first shop in 1984 at the canal next to Bangkok City Hall. By having a wider selection of bread toppings. For instance, pandan custard, sugar sprinkle, jams and condensed milk. Within seven years, the shop became well-known by word of mouth among high school and university students and employees in Bangkok. However, after the business goes quite well, the landlord of the store asked to get the property back. As a result, Mr. Mont searched for a new location to open the store again. In the end, he found two shophouses for lease and opened his first branch in 1994 until present.

Now, the store has already been renovated to make it cleaner, brighter atmosphere and more attractive. After the renovation, it can support more customers, and it is much faster and more convenient for the clients to purchase the products since they allocated the store into three stations. The toasted bread, beverages in a bottle and steamed bread, and cup drinks stations.

The first station is toasted bread, it is the area where you order the toast. Currently, there are nine toppings available for the customers to pick since the store discontinued peanut butter and creamy pumpkin toppings. The top seller toppings would be the chocolate and the coconut custard. I don’t know how did they make it so delicious, but the taste is outstanding, unlike other places! Also, the price is quite reasonable, which range from 15 to 25 THB.

The second station is where you can buy beverages in a bottle for takeaway, which they offer in many flavors including chocolate milk, green tea with milk, and Ovaltine. Both hot and iced drinks are available, and it comes in two sizes, small and large. Plus, you should finish the drink within two or three days because it’s a fresh milk, you shouldn’t keep it in the fridge for too long. In my opinion, the price for some of the drinks is pretty high. Still, I got to tell you that I am very impressed with their fresh milk beverages, especially chocolate milk!

The third station sells hot and iced drinks that serves in Mont Nomsod’s signature white, and pink cups. The menus in this section are the same as the second station. I highly recommended hot chocolate and butterfly pea with lime juice. The beverages have the perfect level of sweetness, and the lime juice can make you feel refreshing!

And now, I’m going to share with you guys my experience on the toasts that I enjoy from “Mont Nomsod” 🙂

Toast with chocolate
What I love about this menu is the texture of the toast. It is crunchy around the edges, and when the chocolate is poured and absorbed into the toast, it creates a softer texture in the middle. And of course, the chocolate! The sweetness and a little bit of bitterness of the chocolate are incredible. You must try this menu if you’re a chocolate lover like me!

♡ Toast with sugar
It is a regular menu that we commonly found in many stores, including “Mont Nomsod.” In my opinion, this menu tastes similar to other places. Even though I do prefer their toast, but the ingredients are simple so that it wouldn’t be something unusual and extraordinary for me, as well as other customers.

Price: 15 THB

♡ Toast with orange jam
At first, I was excited to try this flavor because orange marmalade is one of my favorite spreads. I wasn’t expecting it to be delicious at all, but it turns out that it’s quite nice! I like that you can feel the texture of small pieces of the orange. However, I think that it’s a little too sweet for my liking.

I’ve tried toast and fresh milk from many stores, but I always come back to “Mont Nomsod.” I think it’s because I love the welcoming atmosphere of the place (although it’s quite crowded most of the time) and every time I go there, I always see Mr. Mont’s family gave the customers a heartwarming smile.
Finally, I hope that you guys enjoy my content for this week! Also feel free to comment and share your opinion, I would love to hear them from you 🙂

The restaurant that brings me back to my childhood ♡

Food

Hello, welcome back! I hope you guys enjoy my blog from last week 🙂

In this week, I introduce you guys to one of my favorite restaurants since I was a child called “Chor.Khao Moo Daeng (ช.ข้าวหมูแดง).” The first time I’ve been to this place was with my family after we went to Siam Park City, when we were exhausted and starved because we used all our energy at the watr park. After, my first time here, I felt great and happy that my family and I found this restaurant.

This restaurant sells Khao Moo Krob Moo Daeng (Rice with crispy and roasted pork), Ba Mee Kew Moo Daeng (Egg noodle with roasted pork) and Ba Mee Kew Moo Toon (Egg noodle with braised pork ribs). They also have desserts like ice cream and bread with pandan custard and drinks such as Ovaltine, Thai tea, and iced coffee. As a result, it quickly became my most favorite place to eat with my family.

Then, my family moved to a new house, and we have tried Khao Moo Daeng from many stores, but none of them can defeat my favorite place. So, whenever I have a chance to go to Serithai area, I will always go to eat at this place.

Khao Moo Krob Moo Daeng  (Rice with crispy and roasted pork)

The food that most Thai people are familiar with is Khao Moo Krob Moo Daeng because it is fast and enjoyable at the same time. It is one of food the I enjoy eating so much! I will always try to find a restaurant that has a tasty Khao Moo Krob Moo Daeng, but I still always come back to this place! Since In my opinion, this menu in each restaurant tastes differently. In some shop, the sauce tastes too sweet or salty, and the crispy pork is not crunchy at all.

At this restaurant, Khao Moo Krob Moo Daeng is one of the best sellers menus. Further, the combination of the crispy and roasted red pork, boiled egg, Chinese sausage and poured on top with the restaurant’s special sauce creates a mellow taste and the balance between the sweetness and saltiness of the sauce. Also, the pork is very crispy, and the roasted red pork is very soft and tender too. I highly recommend this place if you guys got a chance to come near Serithai area!

Ba Mee Kew Moo Daeng (Egg noodle with roasted pork)

IMG_1679The second menu is another best sellers of the restaurant, which is the Ba Mee Kew Moo Daeng or Egg noodle with red roasted and crispy pork. At this place, their egg noodle tastes fantastic! When you eat the noodle, you will find dumplings filled with a lot of pork, unlike other restaurants. Plus, the warm soup certainly enriches the flavor of the noodle because they mix pork bones into the soup, which create the flavorful taste. In the bowl, they also added fried garlic that helps to make the noodle taste and smell amazing! Moreover, the amount is suitable for the price too.

Ba Mee Kew Moo Toon (Egg noodle with braised pork ribs)

IMG_1683

This one is similar to menu two, but just switch some of the ingredients, by putting braised pork ribs instead of moo daeng or roasted pork. The braised pork ribs are very soft and have a lot of meat, unlike at some places that we have experienced. Plus, the meat is not sticking to the bone and slipping off easily because they are cooked carefully throughout the process. Additionally, the scent of the pork ribs slightly contains the smell of Chinese medicine, which has a unique scent that is different from other noodles. But in my opinion, the lettuce in the noodle does not go well with it, and the taste of the pork is quite plain even though it’s very soft and tender.

Lastly, I hope this blog will help you to reminisce about your childhood. I think it’s great to recollect your memories when you were younger because as we are growing up, there are more things that we need to concern about, that our life before seems like a distant memory. For example, you need to do well in university to maintain good grades to be able to have a good career or to work hard every day because you have to take care of your family. So, when you look back at our good old memories, you will realize that the simplest things can make you feel very happy 🙂
